On the evening of December 31, I had the privilege of attending the 2026 New Year Symphony Concert at the Jilin Province Concert Hall. The beautifully illuminated hall, set against the winter night, created a magical atmosphere as audiences gathered to welcome the New Year through music.
Sharing this experience with fellow international colleagues made the evening even more meaningful. The concert transcended borders and languages, offering a powerful reminder of how music can bring people together in a moment of collective emotion and reflection.
Since arriving in Jilin, I have been deeply touched by the warmth of the city and its people. Attending this symphony was not only an artistic pleasure but also an opportunity to engage more fully with the cultural life of the region. The performance itself was rich, vibrant, and moving, a true celebration of artistry at the turn of the year.
Experiences like this strengthen my connection to the place where I now live and teach. I am grateful to have been part of such a beautiful cultural moment and look forward to discovering more of the artistic life that Jilin has to offer.
