Whispers of Water and Wind

I was born by a Mediterranean horizon where light is never neutral—it burns, it soothes, it remembers. Since then, I have carried that light with me across borders. Living in different countries, moving between languages and landscapes, I have learned that wind sounds different everywhere, yet it always speaks of departure and return. This series grew out of those crossings. The sea, the dunes, the cicadas at noon, the fragile shadow of a child at dusk—these are not just images but lived fragments. The Mediterranean remains my first breath, but the East—its poetry, its restraint, its devotion to silence—has shaped the way I look. The discipline of haiku met the expansiveness of my own heritage, and together they formed a quiet bridge between worlds. In watercolor, I allow memory to dissolve and reappear, just as it does within me. The pigments move like tides; they resist control. The handwritten verses are intimate traces—whispers of longing, of waiting, of fleeting joy. They do not describe the painting; they accompany it, like wind brushing across water. Whispers of Water and Wind is my way of inhabiting in-between spaces—between continents, between languages, between presence and absence. It is a diary of movement, rooted in Mediterranean warmth and touched by Eastern sensibility, carried wherever I go.
